Guys question re two way switching I have an downstairs hall light which I would like to double switch from upstairs can I convert the 1 gang switch upstairs to 2 gang even though the upstairs and down stairs are independantly fed, or do they need to be on separate switches?

Yes you can convert it to 2 gang. Its what you have downstrairs at the moment isn't it.
You need to run 3C+E cable between the switches
