hey
I just moved into a house (rented) and I’m waiting for my washing machine to be delivered.

I don’t know why but I thought I saw a plug socket under the side where the washing machine will go however when looking today I noticed there’s just a fused spur socket (I think that’s what there called) I’m guessing this is what the last machine was hooked up to?

I’ve had a look in the cupboard next to it there no sockets in there also there’s no switch above the work surface to turn the socket there on or off

What are my options? The machine I’ve ordered comes with a plug so ideally I would like to use it in a actual socket would it be ok to run a extension lead just while using the machine? Or is this a no?

Thanks for any help

Ahh sorry I should have mentioned when looking at it it’s on the right and not on the back wall so with a plug sticking out I’m not to sure the washer would fit.

That may be why an FCU was fitted.

Cut off the plug and connect to FCU.
The deliverers won't do that, though.

Cheers for your help :)

Do I need to worry about there not being a switch for it?
