Hi,

I am having an extractor fan and some downlighters fitted in my current bathroom, does the work need to be Part P approved or is it notifiable work ?

Thanks

Part P approved and notifiable are kind of the same thing.

The work is required to be notified by you or by a Part P electrician via his Scheme operator.

Don't forget to buy IP65 rated downlights - preferably fire rated ones.

Yes I agree. Two urban myths. Who started these, I bet it was those LABC geezers!

IP44 downlights are all that is generally required and there's usually no need for fire-rated ones.
