Hi.

I'm adding an extra 170mm of insulation to my loft but I have electrical wiring running around. It's basic wiring for the lights in the bedrooms and bathroom but I wondered if they will be alright covered up? They are covered in places by 100mm (which is the reason I'm topping up as it's so thin) but I was just concerned that having 270mm of insulation on top may cause them to overheat. There's not a lot of slack to move them above the insulation so would it be better to encase them in plastic wire casing or would they be ok just left as they are? Photo attached.

Thanks for any advice!

If they are lighting and it's a 6 amp circuit, then they can be covered with as much insulation as you like.
