Elite 48 connect wintex via pc com

I am trying to connect wintex via PC com, i have com 1 set to nothing fitted, connecting my USB cable to com 1 on board, set PC com to correct port, in my case com 4, but it just refuses to connect.
I have reset system as removed battery and the IP com unit, now need to send the data back to set it up

I removed smartcom, but it lost all programming so need to connect again with wintex.

1. no udl passcode or it doesn't match CHECKED
2. comport you have connected to is not programed as not used. CHECKED
3. panel details don't match that selected in wintex. CHECKED
4.com selected is not the correct comport. CHECKED

Sounds like you have checked everything,

if your using the usb com lead.
Which port are you connected?

tried com 1 and com 2

i had lead on a usb extension, not sure that would be an issue though?
Will put wintex on laptop tomorrow try without an extension to the usb.
