Article in engineer mag predicting end of gas boilers for domestic properties in 20 years!..Thats a lot of extra electric! All electric cars too..jeez

Not going to happen - we don't have the generating capacity for electricity. More nuclear power stations needed if the country is to go 100% electric, and that's not going to happen in a hurry - Hinkley Point C has taken 10 years so far and they've not got above ground level with it yet.

Last year a senior officer in a gas transporting company told me that new developments may not be connected to the gas network thus enforcing electric as the only energy avialable to the new properties.

They'll have to massively increase the quality and insulation on new builds before that happens, and with the ongoing insulation shortage it might be a while before that is possible
