I have about £20m2 to spend on a new floor, but not sure whether to go for enginered/laminate. Is it worth buying the cheaper engineered stuff or better off going for a better quality laminate?

Also as I am laying it myself is it a lot more difficult to fit engineered compared to laminate?

Any help/advice appreciated

Wood-engineered with normal T&G instead of the laminate click-system is easier to install.
£20.00 won't giver you many choices though: mostly 3-strips if you want decent quality in that price range

what's the difference between the 1 strip and the 3 strip (apart form the obvious!)

What's the minimum layer of real wood should you go for to make sure you're getting the best quality in that price range?

3-strips are normally pre-lacquered, 1-strips are more and more pre-oiled.

top layer, between 3 to 4mm (where 0.6 - 2mm = wood-veneer, bedroom quality)
