Erecting 8 ft fence post with spikes??

had a post go rotten and break off, in an inconvenient position, leaving a great lump of concrete in the ground. It is a lot of work to get it out and put in a replacement or to shift the position of the post. So much that my preference is to avoid it ever happening again by using a concrete post (or spur)

naaaa lol

where do you see concrete posts nowadays?

They are pressured treated. You can help by painting the post before planting it. Also the cement mix should be sloped for water to run off.

Also the base should have drainage. Plant it onto a bit of gravel. Will last for years.

Agree with johnD, much better than wood.

Lasts longer, few minutes to change a panel................

where are your gnomes?

As soon as they saw the camera they ran and hid.

" Noooo,we can't have our pictures taken with these highly unfashionable*, monolithic and hideous looking concrete fence posts! "

...they said, in their squeeky gnome voices.

*Trazor has gay gnomes.

JohnD and Thermo will love this one, oh maybe not, the wood is showing in front of concrete posts, I've got the best of both world
