Occasionally I read the Guardian to keep abreast of the lies being spoon fed to the leftist enemy within.

Today, it turns out the EU has commissioned a survey looking at governments that they consider to be backsliding on democracy.

And, surprise surprise, who should they "decide" is guilty of this crime - none other than Orban in Hungary and Fico in Slovakia.

That's right, two recently DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED leaders with the balls and character to actually represent their people and do what they said they would. Two leaders who do what's best for their countries and not what's best for the unelected, unelectable elite in Brussels.

Makes me - once again - pleased to be out of the rabid EU cesspit.

So if you're pleased to be out, why do you care so much about what is happening in the EU?

I don't.

But I do recognise that there is a small, dwindling but persistent set of deluded types - largely metropolitan elites - that still hangs on to the deluded idea that we'd be better off in.

I like to use stories like to remind them that they are wrong. If we keep chipping away, eventually they will stop getting in the way of Britain's post EU renaissance.

What renaissance?

You're the totally deluded one

Hitler was democratically elected........at first.
Mussolini was "democratically elected" after he took the role of PM.
Pinochet was also 'elected' after he seized power.
Putin has always won his 'election'.
Erdogan always wins his 'election'
Donald trump was democratically elected but promised to make it the last election.

There are many examples in history of dictators initially winning the election.
So the description of "DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED leaders" is a misnomer, often spouted by right wing supporters of dictators, as supposed proof of consensus.

Yep, brexiteers still want to bash the EU after they got exactly what they wanted...

A shrunken economy, devalued currency, misery for millions of people...

And not one of them can come up with a single brexit benefit...

So they carry on spouting their lies about total control from Brussels...

Maybe the OP could tell us why the state 'democratically elected' governments within the EU then have the ability to make their own laws?

Of course many brexiteers like the fact that Fascist/RW governments are the ones that catch their eye...

And that they wish for the same in the UK...

When the history of this total catastrophe is written, then it's very possible that the term brexiteer will become synonymous with the word traitor!

Sounds like the EU are upholding the Democratic standards we've come to expect from law abiding nations, especially as they...condemned Israel for passing a controversial death penalty bill on Monday evening.

“This is a clear negative trend in terms of Israel’s obligation vis-à-vis respect of human rights,” said Commission spokesperson Anouar El Anouni.

Seems to me the OP is happy to endorse a country that supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
