Ever Broken down on a motorway ?

How do you ever get onto the motorway or , indeed , off it again ?

Coming oop north from Heathrow felt a grinding noise from a front wheel, called RAC and the very nice man pulled a pencil from his pocket and flicked a piece of gravel from the disc brake

Broke down on the M40 once. RAC man turned up and cheerily proclaimed he'd have me on my way shortly, I replied that I doubted it. He lifted the bonnet and drew a sharp intake of breath, as he looked at the shredded / mangled cylinder head with the pistons exposed.

A good while back a fella ( hells angel member)
Got shot riding his harley on the motor way on his way home from a rally
He worked at warrs harley shop in Chelsea
Dealt with him a few times ref bike repairs
He was Canadian

Regarding lane discipline :
I baulk at mentioning his name but, iirc, BAS used to point out that a few miles per hour of speeding made bugger all difference to most journeys, so speeding was pointless as well as selfish, dangerous, and illegal.
Which makes lorry overtakes - elephant races - even more futile, for the half - an-mph gain they make.
They should ban elephant races, full stop.
