Can an expansion vessel be fitted to a radiator pipe under the floor?
Can't find any mention of this method but it has been sugested as an alternative to the kitchen wall above the boiler.
Have been told it is better to fit an external one as will last longer.
It is an Ideal Isar HE30.
Thanks.

an external one will probably last a lot longer than the boiler you have it is not a favourite on here, has the old one been tested, could just be blocked or need repressurizing :D

Thanks everone.
The whole boiler is stuffed, leaks all over the place but contracter prefers to repair than replace. It is 5 years old and sounds like it is lucky to have lasted so long. Have finally got them to agree to replace the internal vessel but they are trying to convince me to let them fit an external instead.

An external EXV also operates in a cooler environment and will generally last longer.

How do I know the expansion vessel itself is not leaking.? There are several points where water loss is evident below the boiler. One in the middle and to the left. Small amounts but when CH on will be evaporating quickly. That is why I am inclined to have the internal vessel replaced in the hope that these leaks might be identified and sorted when boiler is off the wall.

With the boiler cold and pressurised to 2.5 Bar to test then its usually possible to see the source of the leaks.
