Extending backbox wires

There are several previous threads (here and elsewhere) discussing the matter (frequently giving the example that NASA forbid it) or have you a link to somewhere official stating that it is satisfactory?
 
Extend each wire individually. Do NOT try bunching them up, as this is altering the design of the circuit.

Also just a quickie... Im curious how people would bunch these wires up? Have you seen it done before? Its just that obviously you would connect live to live in one connector, neutral to neutral and earth to earth - all in thier own block. I dont see how you could bunch these connetions and get a working circuit? Or are you just telling me the obvious (which I appreciate but I am semi savvy :))

What I mean is, if say for example at a socket you have two lives, two neutrals, two earths. Don't try to join them so with together in one connector with one wire going to the socket. If you see what I mean? :?

You can't have three wires in a crimp butt anyway.
 
One of the reasons it was 'frowned upon' by some was that none-pure copper conductors are less malleable and so when crimped the crimp did not penetrate into the copper/ali mix too well.

That cable was discontinued back about 1974 and was introduced when there were major copper shortages. Today we use near pure copper conductors and crimps are fine with it but there are still those that don't believe it.

I believe evan NASA us crimps on solid core, and I bet they did a test or two.
