I know about using junction boxes to extend the ring main circuit and about them being accessible but what is the forums view on extending it using connector blocks located behind a blanking plate? Safe and acceptable or not?

I would have thought it's acceptable to do it as you suggest, the block will need to be rated 30A. Why not just add a socket or two or are the joints in a bathroom etc? Do you know how to test the socket circuit after the new sockets have been added or have you acquired a sparky to help?
