Exterior wall coatings experience

I don't think the product the OP is looking at is a thick coating like K-Rend, it just looks like tins of paint to me.

Sorry, not disagreeing with you, but a quick look at the product flags up many caveats.


Not suitable for buildings over 11m (possibly because they cannot afford to pay the vase sums required for the validation).

They refer to their product as being "breathable" but then say do not use it over lime based render.

I have no experience of the product, but, yeah, I am a natural born cynic.
 
Thanks for all this, interesting. Just wish I had an un-rendered brick house now so I didn't have think about this! I guess what is unanswered is how can you clean them, I did read somewhere that someone said the cleaning process was either unclear or not practical.

And how do you renew them when the time comes. Your not going to coat over coat given the thickness.
 
It's good stuff, worth it if the sums work out.

One thing though, you do need a really good plasterer as the relatively smooth finish will show up imperfections and uneven base coats.

And they need to be tidy as the stuff sticks to anything and everything.
