External Hard Drive Problem

I have just purchased a Freecom External USB Classic Hard Drive (250GB). It installed fine and works fine on my XP PC. However I have noticed that when I transfer a large amount of photos to it, some of the files are corrupted and the images altered.

Does anyone know why this could be? Also, if I were to return it, is there a similar spec drive out there that you could recommend?

Regards

Is there anything else connected to the same USB channel?

What file system are you using?

In what way are the images altered?

What is the full spec. of your system?

Sorry for the delay in returning a reply.

I forgot the golden rule, always format drives, even if they are new. As soon as I formatted it (forgot to do it when I got it) it worked a treat.
