What I thought would be a simple search for an external keypad turns up that they don't seem to exist for alarm panels So I'm looking for some advice.
I have a side gate with an electronic lock controlled by my texecom elite which is connected to the Panel output that I control by the phone app. It unlocks when a current is applied.
What I'm looking to do is have a keypad on the outside so I can give delivery drivers a one time code to access a box behind it for deliveries.
I see that I can get standalone external keypads that would directly unlock the door but I'd rather have it routed through the alarm so I cam have notification (via home automation connectivity to texecom panel) and logging. Also I can create a new code from the pc remotely via wintex rather than having to go to the gate.
Could I have the external keypad connect to an unused zone somehow that could trigger the panel to turn on the output when that connection is closed, possibly with a relay (I don't understand relays well)
Thanks. Simon
