You have to realise that there is a vast cultural difference betweem Americans and Brits--despite lots of people here and there thinking we are the same .
Some things that seem serious in USA are not considered so serious here .
You have to have spent a lot of time there (Like I have) to understand.
Besides that- the Americans cant even agree the Law between themselves ie: different rules in different states .
JimmySavile would have been ok if he had lived in certain states over there where they marry at 14 years old (12 in some other states). (it may have changed recently though).
Americans always make a drama out of nothing . AWSOME !! ETC.

But- suffice it to say ' it was not anything you suggested.
UK law saw it in a different light .
