Fan In Flat Warm Roof

Nah, it's actually fubarred!

So, what would your choice be?

I'm tempted to replace the fan with something similar..

IOW, the cheapest option, but there is of course a risk the replacement fan may go the same way.
 
Just having a chat with Mrs S about replacing the fan. There is a scant gap under the door.

I reckon it should be 20mm minimum. I have a theory that the lack of airflow has contributed to the premature deaths of these fans. I'd like to shave the door down before fitting a new fan, she wants a new fan and to leave the door as it is, as she hates draughts.

Would you say it is fair comment to shave the door down?
