Same issue - you are (probably) not following the instructions. You would be liable for any damage or loss which resulted from your failure to do it as specified by the manufacturer.

In fact, FAIK, if a CE-marked appliance specifies a particular installation method, then after Jan 01 it may well be illegal to disregard it.

i thought you would have to mark the blue as black if it was a neutral? altho you may be right about there not being a requirement to sleeve teh neutral

none of the fan have instructions (altho i think there might have been a internal fuse in some types) and were told just to wire it from the lighting circuit thru an isolator
