To be honest I have flicked the isolation switch beneath the big board. I only go there in the day time and at present have no need for power (until I actually take possession). Even then I am trying to time the new supply to coincide with the date I take possession.
Having said that if there is a need for power I will take your advice....
don't skip that board..
if you don't want it sell it to a reclaimation place.. there are still plenty of factories out there with those type boards in them that need spares from time to time..
like ours... every time I can rip out a supply to something that is no longer needed I skip the fuses and holders as fast as I can.. that way they can't ask us to put something back into that board..

we took out 47 almost brand new ( about 8 months old, only used as paper storage warehouse.. ) high bay sodium lights from one place we went to..
it was a printing press for newspapers and one of the paper stores was being converted for a new press..
we had to strip out all the electric in the roof ( 40ft up.. ) so that they could rip the roof off to raise it as well as dig up the floor to drop pits in..
they said skip everything so we called an electrical reclaimation place to flog the lights to..
they would give us £10 per fitting... these things cost £300-£400 when new..
they were worth nore as scrap aluminium.. so we tatted them in and got about £30 each light for scrap..
