Please close the door then and do the screws up and don't open it again unless you really have to and preferably isolate it first

To be honest I have flicked the isolation switch beneath the big board. I only go there in the day time and at present have no need for power (until I actually take possession). Even then I am trying to time the new supply to coincide with the date I take possession.

Having said that if there is a need for power I will take your advice....

don't skip that board..
if you don't want it sell it to a reclaimation place.. there are still plenty of factories out there with those type boards in them that need spares from time to time..

like ours... every time I can rip out a supply to something that is no longer needed I skip the fuses and holders as fast as I can.. that way they can't ask us to put something back into that board.. :D

eBay it is then.....

There are all sorts of other bits and pieces connected e.g. other boards. isolation switches etc etc

Its a right mess. I love get all spanking new wiring , boards . switches etc installed from scratch as I know that its all safe and sound.

Cant wait to get all the old stuff out!!

I know one factory round our way still running on 5 or 6 boards like that

Oh, and a couple of schools come to think of it

Anyone got a link for one of these reclaimation places? I have just come across a load of stuff which would break my heart to skip!!

we took out 47 almost brand new ( about 8 months old, only used as paper storage warehouse.. ) high bay sodium lights from one place we went to..

it was a printing press for newspapers and one of the paper stores was being converted for a new press..

we had to strip out all the electric in the roof ( 40ft up.. ) so that they could rip the roof off to raise it as well as dig up the floor to drop pits in..

they said skip everything so we called an electrical reclaimation place to flog the lights to..

they would give us £10 per fitting... these things cost £300-£400 when new..

they were worth nore as scrap aluminium.. so we tatted them in and got about £30 each light for scrap..
