Just fitted out an entire LARGE room with 25 ELV downlights with JCC trannies.
Fitted the lot, and when doing so, noticed the trannies where green in colour, not the usual grey. Still, they were 12v 20-60VA, and dimmable, so thats fine.
Turned them on, and as expected, most of them came on within 2 seconds or so - Soft start tranny. However, atleast 50% remained off. I left it for a while, and as I did, the remainder of the lights started to ping on - the whole room was lit inside approx 3mins.
Rang JCC tech, and they said the trannies where buggered, and to get the wholesaler to swap them, and to a new model aswell - 4303 I recall. The chap also said that several people had complained recently, so he assumes a dodgy batch.
Wholesaler rang JCC sales to get authority to swap out the trannies, and sales are denying a problem! Despite the fact that the model I fitted is now discontinued as of next week, and the new model superseding it!
So - I know I will get the trannies replaced, as the wholesaler will sort this with JCC one way or the other even though they deny a problem - they are still faulty. However, to change 25 trannies means dropping 25 lights from the ceiling and swapping them over. A few hours work. And who pays for this!?!
