I've got a half full tin of felt adhesive that wasn't shut properly, it's still tacky but has gone very stiff, unworkable in its current state.
What can I add to it to liven it up, white spirit, meths, cellulose thinners?

It's only going to be used on a shed.

Start by adding a little bit of white spirit to the adhesive then mix it in thoroughly.

Keep adding small amounts until you achieve the desired consistency.

You can also use water too (if the felt adhesive is water based)

Vegetable oil can also do the job but adding too much might make it too greasy.

Whatever is used to clean it off can be used to thin however, it may effect the performance of the product.
Look up the data sheet online for the felt adhesive for information.
I'd just buy new to be sure felt sticks

I'll give it a go tomorrow. It's getting nails too, I'll just use it on the overlaps.

I'd rather spend the money on a fresh tin.

I put some white spirit in there, which hasn't mixed in very well but it can be got at and spread on with a trowel.
