Hi there.

I have a Ferroli F24b boiler. The red lock out light keeps coming on. If I reset the boiler it starts up again, but after about 15 seconds the red light comes back on.

It seems as though it won't ignite. I can light it manually with a match, and the heating and hot water will then stay on, and it will even re-ignite from standby, but when I switch the heating off (as I dont want it on all the time), when I switch the boiler back on, the boiler will not ignite and the red light comes back on.

An engineer told me that I needed a new PCB, so I bought one online. I had it fitted, but I still have the same problem, only this time it wont re-ignite from standby either.

The engineer is now saying he thinks that the new pcb is a dud. Do you have any ideas what the problem may be? Do you know if there is a way of having the new PCB tested before I look for my money back or purchase a new one?

Any help would be greatfully recieved.

can you hear or see the spark across the probe ? if there is a spark it could b the gap on the prob, split or corroded ht lead, or the gas solinode valve i cant really see 2 pcbs giving you the fault tho, its possible but to me that would be a bit of bad luck :(

i fired up the system with a match and had the heating on constant for the last hour or so and am also getting hot water, i have left the heating on constant but turned it off at the room thermostat and i am still able to get hot water. i also get heating when i turn the room stat on, i can also see the ignition sparking,
what i think happens is when the heating is off for a while and i restart it it seem there is no spark
