In about 2 places were the board meet there is maybe 5 mil gaps as the boards had to be cut to get into the loft.

Can i just fill these then scrim tape ready for plastering ?

Thanks

Just looking at the way the Americans dry wall. Do they just put boards up then joint compound then sand then prime then paint.

Would you say plastering gives a better results or just the same ?

Only asking out of interest.

plus a good plasterer will be able to do the job quicker and neater than you can with jointing compound
