I've encircled and put a red arrow of the gap i want to fill , it's white wooden frame at top of the porch. i was going to use foam-filler but the foam will slowly spill down. Any tips on keeping the foam-filler up right up into that gap? Foam-fill it up then lodge something into it like wood? I'm trying to keep wasps out.

Fascia should not be connected to the wall as you propose as then water just runs down the fascia and down the wall soaking it. There should be a drip formed to let water drip off the fascia.

If you are intent on sealing it then the seal should be 20mm or so up from the bottom of the fascia.

And these gaps should not be sealed if they are ventilating the roof timbers. However they should have a mesh screen to keep insects out.

Ventilating roof timbers? You mean the roof of that porch ? The fascia is the white wood around top? I can't see what rainwater has to do with whether those gaps ( where wasps are getting in) are sealed or not because rain falls down not upwards. The gaps are covered by the fascia.
Let's say I seal them, what problems could ensue?
