Hello all,

I have Internal aerated concrete blocks (aac) that have been painted.

I've read https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/wet-plastering-aerated-lightweight-blocks.177624/

And I'm undecided on what I need to do.

1. Do I render? Then skim? (What's difference between plaster)
2. Originally i wanted to dot Dab plasterboard, but there are some pipes in the way... Furthermore it's not widely done in Denmark... They tend to fasten with a mechanical fixing like screws.... So finding dot dab mix or even foam adhesive is hard.

My biggest challenge seems to be translating British terms to what they do here.... And finding if its available.
I'm not even kidding when I say there is only one light switch option.

My next challenge is the finish has to cover the 5mm recess of joining cement AND the defunct cable protruding +5mm from the wall. Cable can't be pulled out because it was cast in foundation and comes up through a few blocks and has been cut as close to wall as possible.

Lastly does the paint affect adhesion. Do I need to prime or scratch the paint?

Many thanks,
Wes
