Hi,

Looking for some advice please, just had an old fireplace removed and capped, are my only options to brick up and plaster? Is there anything I need to do with the flue?

Probably just answered my own question.

Thanks very much for your help!

I've noticed that recent posts deal with your question.
Sweep and smoke test and ensure through ventilation of any abandoned flue: a vent at the bottom and one the top. Remove any SS flue liner.
When you say capped do you mean the chimney stack above the roof has been capped or something else?
If you cap a stack you might be capping more than one flue.

Sorry the gas supply has been capped, it's the little thing sticking out the wall on the left, it was a gas fire that has been removed.

Thanks!
