I would like to fit a timer onto my boiler. I have bought the device but not sure whether an electrician or gas safe engineer should fit it. I myself can fit it, seems a very easy and straight forward job but I don't think I'm approved to do it. Any ideas?

turn off power drop the front and you can do it yourself ;)

Thanks, but am I allowed to do it? The laws in UK states a competent person should do it? I don't want to invalidate my home insurance and stuff..A bit of a grey area to be honest. Any ideas...

I had a look at it myself and it is an easy piece of work. But if something goes wrong later on I don't want to go through all legal nightmares...
