i dont own a jig,so all of mine are done the old fashioned way of hatchet or axe.

You know what you can do with that hatchet! .. Any more .. perhaps less rustically inspired responses? :D

i do hinges with hammer and chisel
locks/latches with a flat bit in a corded drill

drills and chisels for me but then im a brickie by trade and dont do enough doors to warrant jigs n router.

jigs are not worth it till you get to door 3

hinge chisel 3 mins if it goes well 10 mins if not lol

Thanks.. whats a mab bit? Also.. whats the standard height/centre for locks/handles?

if im doing a few then i will set my router up and use that and then use my corner chisel on the rounds.if its new linings and frames, then i use a measuring rod as well.
if its just a couple then its hammer and chisels for me.
