I have a Mk1 Granada I am starting to restore. I have never tried this sort of thing before, so I thought I'd have a go!

The wheels need to have a 5 stud pattern to fit, so I bought a set off ebay.

Being naive, I figured that all 5 stud patterns are the same, but obviously they are not!! The wheels I bought were on an old Jag. When I tried to fit them I realised that although they have 5 holes for the studs, the hole in the centre of the wheels is wider than the car will accept so the wheels won't fit!

Is there any way I could put a new hub (or whatever it's called) on my car which would accept the new wheels, or should I just cut my losses and look for the right size wheels??

Go for a set of wheels that are intended for your car, mate - the pitch circle diameter (PCD) of the stud holes varies considerably as does the hub hole in the centre.....both absolutely essential for safety. The holes in the wheels need to be suitable for taper fitting, too.
Also, the wheel offset is important - if incorrect the wheel will foul the brake caliper.
John :)
