Asking a manufacturer rather than getting unsure answers was why i suggested contacting them.r.bartlett said:tim west said:If you are unsure of advice from this forum then i'd suggest contacting the manufacturer for advice.
I asked here because this forum is filled with trade sparks skilled in UK electrical works and installations with the necessary skills/qualifications to match..
Only Davy actually addressed the question (thanks for that Davy) everyone else pontificated off topic with irrelevant 'advice'. -You being the latest and that's with the clarification post I added.....!!!
So by 'advice' what do you mean here exactly??

tim west said:but posting that the manufacturer could give you sound advice seems in your mind not to be relevant??!![]()
Ok now you've explained fair enough, personally my interpretation of the regs is that plugs should only be put on portable appliances and a "proper job" with fused spur unit should be used for fixed appliances.r.bartlett said:tim west said:but posting that the manufacturer could give you sound advice seems in your mind not to be relevant??!![]()
Like electrical wholesalers they state "We're not electricians, for electrical advice consult a suitably qualified person"
So asking a Japanese manufacturer their opinion on UK electrical 16th Ed regulations will naturally illicit the above response
