Fixing and preventing twisted/warped gates

Sometimes when I make wooden gates, despite doing double angle braces, they'll end up twisted/warped(not sagging). Like if the latch is at the top, if it's flush up top, down at the bottom it's either too further in or is sticks out.

Are they are tips on a) how to prevent it, or b) how to fix it. I recently made a gate just like this http://www.quinneys.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/image003.jpg (this is not my gate) and it ended up twisted on the latch side. It looks a dog when it's not flush all the way down.

Make sure both posts are plumb.

When the gate is glued and assembled it should be left on a flat surface until the glue dries.
That usually ensures it stays flat. Some people glue on the t&g also.

Sometime a good pull will sort out misalignment with the posts.

Those are very heavy engineered hinges for such a small gate.

Have you checked your gate for alignment with winding sticks?

That's not my gate. I said "like this", the construction is more or less the same, double angled brace etc. I used t hinges.

Are they made of softwood?
