Hi...

I have 2 large concrete wall toppers which need to be fitted to 2 brick columns at the front of my house. They have previously been fixed there but came loose.

I have tried to fix them back but the mix of cement i usually use just seems to compact between the brick and topper under the weight.

Is there a particular mix of sand/cement I should use or a particualr method in fixing them onto the wall please.

Thanks
Dougie

Personally I would just use a goodly amount of gripfill. That stuff sets like iron and adheres very well to just about anything. Can point it up with mortar for appearance.

You want a stiff mortar mix or at least a mix that has been applied to the pillar and left to stiffen a bit, before fitting the pier cap.

Make sure you trowel it on flat whilst filling any joints and avoiding peaks and troughs in the muck.

Don't skimp on the dust.
