I'm pointing out the reality of what flying the Union Jack and the flag of St. George has come to signify in most cases, a reality which no amount of hand-wringing or bluster can change, and a reality which means that those who do not have RWR views will be correct most of the time if they regard those who fly those flags as having such views.

Apparently there has been an increase in racist incidents, with various nationalities targeted including Pakistani, Indian and Chinese.

What's ironic is some of those hurtling the verbal abuse will no doubt pop into their local corner shop for a pint of milk and loaf of bread on the way home from their protests, then later in the evening will jump onto Just Eat for an Indian or Chinese takeaway.

They're so thick they wouldn't get the irony of it all.

a few weeks ago I was out walking the dog and 2 guys were sitting on a bench on the green, holding flags on a stick whilst drinking beer at 10.30am they were off to a hotel protest

Nonsense! If next door makes a lot of noise, disrupting my life, I will tolerate it for a while. Even if the noise level decreases, assuming it continues incessantly, I will eventually do something about it. We've been patient, we have been tolerant, but there has been no solution - now we tackle it.

AIUI the previous government were trying to do something about is but several times prevented in their efforts by the other members of the house.
