I actually do read it when I want to get the other side of a story. And what I have found is that when they are reporting something factual, they often research it really well. There's been several times when I have got frustrated at other newspapers for not explaining parts of stories. Then I have looked at the Daily Mail version, and they have lots of useful facts.

On the dramatic increase in flags... I drove into town this morning and there were Union Jacks on absolutely every lamppost for about 2 miles, and visible into the distance on several of the side streets. Quite amazing, and it looked professionally done, all very uniform and at the same height. It was heartwarming and made the place feel like home again. The Union Jack matches our great buildings and complements them, as opposed to the all too familiar mish mash of roller shutters, warning signs, neon signs and graffiti that blights our streets nowadays.

On what is wrong with Noseall... Berty3000 often called nosey a "spiteful mutant". This is a term coined (I think) by Ed Dutton, and refers to a type of person who, due to faulty genetics, does not get along with or fit in with people of his own type, and so seeks friendship and belonging with those from an out-group, usually another country. We see this in all lefties, in particular with our Prime Minister. Who can you see Keir Starmer fitting in with?

That's amazing. Who'd have thought it. Maybe if we have enough flags, people will forget about how difficult life has become for them. This could be a really cheap answer to all the current problems.

Quite right - it's the ordinary citizens around the UK who are erecting the flags, as a means of passive protest.

Why were they not doing it in 2023 when there were over 400 asylum hotels in use.
