lack of air for combusion?

about 9 month ago could it not be the burner pressure or working pressure from meter to high
 
dont know worcester boilers, but is your flue going up through the attick,if so, and its a concentric type (exhaust in middle pipe, air on the outer) sound like one of the inner pipes may have slipped, letting products of combustion back down the air intake, causing vitiation of the flames (searching for oxygen)

i would be lookin at any vertical sections, but this is a job for a corgi...
 
Probably not relevant here but flame lift off on a newly installed boiler is almost always caused by a faulty flue seal allowing POC to leak from outlet to inlet thus starving the flame of oxygen.
