Flat roof junction help

Any advice please on what the normal solution is for sealing a flat EPDM roof against a sloping gable end existing roof as per image?

The flat roof will have a vertical upstand of 150mm where it meets the brick. I will then have a lead flashing chased into the brick just above this upstand running horizontally across.

But how do I finish the junction properly where the flashing meets underside of the overhanging sloped tiles? There must be ample examples of this but I can't find any online

Ignore black sheeting in picture. This is just protecting deck against rain for now

Can the pitched roof not be cut short and the flattie continue up to the wall? It's difficult to see what's going on from the opposite camera view.

That's interesting, I never considered that. However I think planning won't allow me to affect this so at the moment I am assuming I can't alter it
 
Form soffit boxing, which will give you a vertical surface to flash.

You've not shown what's going on with the tiles and verge and whether they need adapting
