Hi,

My boss has told me to wire a flood light about 10m away from a building along a steel gurder, which I have no problem with. However he says just wire it in normal 1.5 t/e and tie wrap it to the gurder. Is 1.5 t/e ok to use outside? as I would have thought it would not be suitable. What cable is suitable for outdoor use?
Any help would be appreciated.

Every situation is different, but I would most likely use some gurder clips to secure some 20mm conduit, and fit a conduit terminal box with a TRS gland in the lid, or use some SWA and gurder clip this to the gurder.

Steve's showing us the cross sectional shape of a common girder.

I think.
