Interior door with lever handle.
The handle does not return to the "up" position after use.
I removed the handle and checked it. The handle does not spring back as it should.

The handle mechanism is held in place by a circlip. Any tips on removing this?
I tried to use a screwdriver, but only succeeded in stabbing myself.

Thanks
Mike

you can buy circlip pliers, probably cost you £10 or so. Note that unless they have swappable heads, you use a different tool for circlips you have to open outwards, and ones that have to be compressed inwards to remove. I expect you need the ones that open outwards. You may find bent-nose ones suit this job.

Unless you expect to do it again you may as well just buy a new handle. You may well find the spring is broken.

OK. I was hoping to be able to repair it.
But getting a replacement may be less hassle.
