Im looking at ways to insulate my floor. Currently there is about 30mm screed.

Would laying multifoil insulation over the top of this work? How about digging up the screed and then laying celotex with a chipboard flooring?

Im hoping someone has some experience of this.

Multi foil will not work at all. Celotex will work but 30mm isn't going to give you a lot once you take off the thickness of the board. Or, if you don't mid how much it costs, aerogel will also work and will be approximately half the thickness for the same thermal value.

thanks, yeah i don't think i will bother unless i use aerogel but like you say very pricey.

i assume most on here would say a floating chipboard floor is poor in comparison to a solidfloor.
