Hi
In my cosy one bed victorian top floor flat i have a kitchen about 13ft x 11ft. The kitchen is a linear one down just one side of the wall, giving a reasonable living space in the rest of the room with a fireplace.
I like this concept for maximum flexibility of the room; so its not just a kitchen.
Currently the kitchen units stand in an area of fake vinyl tiles next to them, coming out about 18" to 2ft. Then there is wooden flooring for the rest of the space.
When the kitchen comes to be redone, I am wondering whether to do the floor the same throughout or to still keep the areas 'zoned'
If I keep the floor all one type, will the room have more of a feel as a kitchen with a lot of empty space, rather than a living room with a kitchen?
Any comments please and any suggestions on the best flooring you would chose
