Fluorescent light issue

Hi all,

In my garage i have multiple (rather old but working fine) fluorescent lights, however one of them seems to have issues striking sometimes, the ends of the tube just glow (albeit one brighter than the other)
however if i lightly tap the tube it lights straight away.
there is slight darkening to the end of the tube however seems to still be bright

are we looking at a ballast issue or more of a tube issue here?

Try changing the starter.

Will do, i have a weekend free so i'll have a mess about with it and see if we're any closer to fixing it

Sounds more like the tube to me with the blackening that you mentioned.

I was thinking that, yet the moment it's touched it lights straight up and brightly too

It's sorted
the tube wasn't making perfect connection with the holder

I should have checked that before posting, thanks for the replies though i really apprecaite it
