Hi I have a 5 ft fluorescent light in my kitchen, the last two days it's started to flash on and off continuously when I switch it on, I've changed the starter and the tube but it's still the same. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Are the tube and the starter definately both the correct rating?

Assuming the replacement tube was new and good and the starter is the right type for the tube (the starter must suit the tube wattage) then the ballast has probably failed, unless its a fancy expensive light a new light is cheaper

Thanks everyone for the quick responses I'll check it out in the morning and post back.

I just checked the replacement starter and it's 65w and the old one was 85w, so I just replaced it with a new 85w one and everything seems ok.Thanks again everyone for your help.
