Flush Fitting Wall Mounted Handrails

I'm trying to find a handrail for my stairs which fits flush (ie with no brackets) to the wall and we can just paint white. I'm sure I've seen them but can't find them anywhere online or at our local timber suppliers.

Has anyone got any ideas, or am I just going mad?

i must admit, i've never seen it for sale... but have you tried a reclamation yard? Or failing that, i reckon most timber yards would be able to do something for you, if they have a spindle moulder or a large router table setup?
