folding doors - door knobs

I have two sets of internal folding doors between two rooms. Two panels on each.
What sort of door knobs can I fit. It s OK on one side but when folded open there is no room for the door knob on the inner folded side! So the alternative question, with no door knob, how do I pull the door closed from that side.
Or maybe you are not meant to open the doors flush ?
I need help.

I had bi fold doors between my rooms, I had round wooden knobs, not on the door edge but in the centre of the door.

Thanks, but as you open them the door knob stops the door folding back flush. That is if you have door knobs on both sides. Yes ?

OK I have the flush door pulls 50mm x 50 mm. The gap between the screw holes and the ring mechanism is so small I cannot see how I can recess it by drill or chisel. Any more advise please ?
