4 oz of plain flour
1 egg
pinch of salt
1/4 pint of milk and water
mix well leave plenty of bubbles
stand for two hours
grease some tins ~Lard
200c 20~25 minutes.

You can use 2 eggs, if you like. Some recipes call for refrigeration of the mixture before cooking.

Lard, beef dripping, goose fat even olive oil can be used.

My Gran swore that splashing a dash of ice cold water in the mix immediately before throwing it into the hot fat made it rise much more.

One thing is a must for successful Yorkshires: piping hot fat to pour the mixture into.

your missing an ingredient, surely. Unless your having a roast?

Roast - yorkshire puds. Exactly what I thought then. :wink:

Add yeast (a bit of sugar to feed it) and less water and you have crumpets - hence why I asked if you had missed an ingredient.
