Thought about it, but as the car's not quite two years old, I thought I'd give it a miss. Best thing to do so I've heard, is obtain the old cooking oil from chip shops (which normally they have to pay to dispose of), filter out all the old gubbins, add a bit (I don't know what the ration is) of turps, and hey presto, a diesel alternative. Apparently it makes the car smell like a mobile chippy thou, and legally you have to pay the Govt 25p a litre duty..... yeah right !!

I beleive it is 5% Meths (don't know about turps, probably works) and you should leave to stand a couple of days before use.

If you don't add the meths, it will still run OK, but it you'll have trouble starting it when cold.

Just passing on information. I don't do it myself, the smell is a dead giveaway, (apparently).

Alternatively you can do the old diesel trick of adding a splosh of petrol to it. That helps cold starts.

Does anyone know if you get more power using sunflower oil or olive oil? What if it is extra virgin olive oil? Is that like 105 RON to a diesel engine?

OO has a very low smoking point. Does that alter the usefulness of the product as a fuel for cars? HC Chains breakdown, don't they?

Hope so, that's what gives the oomph! Otherwise you'd have olive oil pouring out the back of the car. Mind you, that's a bit like my old Escort that used to use about 5 litrres of oil a week, seriously, it's true. Dirty so and so, never had a Ford since.
