Its even worse when you've cut the wood twice and its still too short :D

we all have blond moments [sorry to blondes]or senior moments the normal is adding or subtracting 100mm to give a more accurate cut
and made things 100mm to big or small :eek: :eek: :D
 
I remember watching candid camera way back in the late 70's early 80's when they did a prank involving a chippie, some shelves and an alcove, un beknown to the chippie the alcove could be moved, so once he'd measured off the length and started to cut his timber, when his back was turned, the alcove was slid together, he would then scratch his head a bit when the timber was too long, he'd then cut a bit more off, he would do that twice until finally the alcove was moved back to its original place and all that cutting made the shelf too short. It was histerical at the time

Did the jig saw cut vertically? sometimes they cut slanted, and the hole is larger on one side than the other.
