For a change, good news, price of electric being reduced.

I hope to see some days when the gas generators are not required.

The day draws nearer.

Today was quite a good day, but not exceptional.
True, not 'exceptional', but relatively unusual.

Of the currently-available sources of electricity which do not involve 'fossil fuels' (or burning anything else biological in origin), it would seem that only nuclear, hydro and 'wave/tide' (not that such is appreciably used) can provide relatively 'guaranteed' electricity for 24/7 - there is therefore quite a long way yet to go!

Only due to it being daylight, and the wind blowing generally across the UK. When it's night, and the wind don't blow????
Quite so. As I wrote ....

Global scale interconnectors are used to bring in power from places where it is windy and/or daytime.
One sometimes might have to look a long way away to find even a windy place, but as regards "daytime" would it really be sensible/practical to 'transport' electricity over literally thousands of miles?

Many consider it entirely feasible and desirable.
