Paul how did you get on in Aberdeen? i was offered a job with Scottish Gas up there, via a subbie who was trying to hire 20 guys (supposedly for local area but transpires we were destined for Aberdeen from day one, just a big con) £11 per safety check BUT they would pay my digs!! whoopy do, declined and was offered one off payment of £300 and £25 per night but had accepted what i think is a better job nearer home

sorry to depress you Rob!! i was dissapointed with the whole thing as i thought it would have been a good job but the more i read here i just don't fancy it, now working on kitchen refurb contract doing 3 kitchens per day between 2 of us, its a great job, strip out in the morning for the joiners then spend a couple of hours altering gas meters cooker points etc, then get back in and plumb the sinks in, labourers reconnect washing machines and dishwashers and clear up everything for all trades so it is easy peasy, will try to post some good posts in the future.

the lads we have loaned out up there at the moment have been working 70 hrs over 7 da weeks and knocking up a couple of grand a week with allowances.
